Compact’s new booklet highlights land trusts’ success

In March 2018 The Compact published a 44-page color booklet celebrating the success of local and regional land trusts and watershed associations on Cape Cod: Fifty Years Forward: Cape Cod Land Trust Success.

A web version is found here.

The booklet is in memory of the Compact’s co-founder Ansel B. Chaplin, who served as president for the first 15 years.

Planning interns Halley Steinmetz and Meredith Riley helped to produce the booklet, which summarizes the land protection efforts over the past 50 years on the Cape and includes weblinks to significant landholdings and trail maps.

Three short essays by the “Next Generation” of land conservation leaders on the Cape are also included.

Printed copies are available to the public for mailing cost of $3.00 each, check made out to The Compact, P.O. Box 443, Barnstable MA 02630, or for free at the Compact’s office in Brewster.
